Florida SARC Small Animal Emergency Sheltering Course - Level 2 - Operations

Description

Florida State Animal Response Coalition FL SARC, in partnership with Jefferson County Emergency Management & FL SART is pleased to offer a grant funded FDEM certified Operations Level Small Animal Disaster and Emergency Sheltering class for Jefferson and surrounding North Florida counties.


Prerequisites: Completed Level 1


This Operations Level (Level 2) is a 2 day course that details leadership roles and strategic considerations of emergency animal shelters operations. You will be able to plan & operate your counties small animal emergency shelter at the completions of this course


This course details supervising volunteers in emergencies by covering leadership roles and strategic considerations in Emergency/Pet Friendly Animal Shelter with topics Including:

Incident Command System- Basic ICS

How it is used in shelter operations 

Biosecurity and Decontamination

Understanding of pathogens and concepts of decontamination. 

Facility Design Considerations
