This Awareness Level (Level 1) class will give you skills and practical experience required to become a emergency animal responder. The Awareness Level Small Animal Emergency Sheltering class is certified by the Florida Division of Emergency Management and is required to respond to help companion animals during a disaster.This online class will be held Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday October 5, 6, and 7, 2020. It is an eight-hour class split into 3-two and a half hour sessions. The video conference will start at 6:30pm and end at about 9pm each day. |

PREREQUISITES ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE THIS CLASS!!To be eligible to take this course, you must be at least 18 years old, have a up-to-date FLSARC volunteer profile, AND provide proof of completing the following courses:-- FLSARC Awareness Level (Level 1) Small Animal Emergency Sheltering class.-- FEMA IS-100.c (online and no charge)IMPORTANT: This class is held over 4 days (10/26-27 and 11/3-4/2020) and you must be present all 4 days. The dates on the calendar only list the first 2 days. Join Florida State Animal Response Coalition for the Operations Level Class online. The class is four half days of intense and fun workshops where you and a team of colleagues will work on various projects related to the operations of emergency and pet friendly shelters.Operations level will help qualify you for new roles during a disaster involving animals including possible Team Lead roles. This class expands on the learnings of the Level 1 course and challenges experienced shelter staff with interesting scenarios of emergency sheltering during a disaster. |
