2012 National Severe Weather Workshop

Please join us in Central Oklahoma for a unique and growing workshop
focused on hazardous weather information-sharing, and discussions on
the effective transmission of messages about meteorological risk.
Emergency managers, weather enthusiasts, teachers, students,
meteorologists, broadcasters, and vendors in threat alerting,
sheltering, and communications will gather, present, and discuss
inter-related topics about weather hazards in early March.

The 2012 workshop will feature over two days of topics. The agenda
is being formed in such a way as to have one day devoted to ?A Look
Back? at some of the significant weather events of 2011 and other
recent years. The second day of the workshop will feature speakers and
topics concentrated on ?A Look Forward?. We?ll talk about lessons
learned from the events of the recent past in the hopes of identifying
partnerships and progress that will lead to better prepared communities
and the ultimate goal of a Weather Ready Nation.  Saturday will
conclude with a session on Severe Weather Awareness Training.

We have confirmed that the 2012 National Severe Weather Workshop Banquet Speaker on Friday night, March 2, will be  Mr. Keith Stammer, Director of the Joplin ? Jasper County, Missouri Emergency Management Agency. Mr.
Stammer will talk about the incredible challenges in response to and
recovery from the deadliest single tornado in the U.S. in over 60
years. (Note: you must attend the banquet to attend Mr. Stammer?s
