8:00AM - 5:00PM | Animal Evacuation-Emergency Sheltering Training Workshop Florida State Animal Response Coalition has been asked to participate in a hands-on, multi-agency Evacuation and Emergency Sheltering training event. This event will include animal evacuation, decontamination, emergency animal sheltering, animal tracking and veterinary triage and care. This event will take place on April 12-13, 2014 in Fort Myers, Florida. Trained volunteers will be given more details as we get closer to the date and final instructions as well. Training events and drills are a great way to hone current skills and learn new skills! This is an excellent opportunity to meet and work with your team members in a relaxed atmosphere, as well as working with the many other agencies that work together during a disaster. This training exercise will simulate the first days of a disaster and we will be using live animals for this event. We will all be staying together in a secure outdoor compound.
In order to be able to participate in this training exercise, you must have completed your volunteer application and the FEMA ICS 100.b class to be added to the final roster. You are welcome to register now. You will just need to inform us when you have completed the ICS 100.b class. When you fill out your volunteer application, we will automatically be notified! |
