9:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Gainesville DART training September 12-14, 2008 This three day course teaches participants to be effective emergency responders who can assist animal relief efforts during disasters. The class includes mixed classroom and hands-on instruction and specialized tabletop exercises.
Participants will gain a basic understanding of disaster response for animals, including rescue, transport, sheltering; safety, law communications, media relations, and damage assessment; small and large animal handling; and The HSUS disaster response system. Graduates will be in a position to help develop disaster animal response teams in their communities and will be prepared for additional education in disaster and recovery. |
