EMERGENCY SHELTERING WORKSHOP

SMALL ANIMAL DISASTER AND EMERGENCY SHELTERING

SEPTEMBER 6, 2023

10 AM - 3 PM

Florida State Animal Response Coalition, an SPCA Florida Disaster Response program, and SPCA Ocala, would like to invite you to participate in an emergency sheltering workshop.

This workshop will provide you the opportunity to exercise your Level 1 Awareness knowledge in a controlled, enclosed and outdoor training environment. Live animals will be provided to add to the "realism" of the exercise. All equipment and training tools, water/hydration, and light refreshments will be available. Additional details will be emailed to confirmed attendees approximately one week prior to the event.

RECOMMENDED PREREQUISITES (for FL SARC Responders only):

• Age 18 or older (mandatory)
• Level 1 Awareness Deployable:
• -----SARC Level 1 Awareness Course or SART FL-017 Online Pet Friendly Sheltering Course
• -----FEMA 100 Certificate
• -----Current Tetanus vaccination or booster (within 10 years)

Non SARC Responders: 18 years of age or older.

Uniform requirements:

• FL SARC Uniform T-shirt or identifying organizational shirt. If you do not have one, do not worry. Nametags will be provided. 
• Long pants
• Close-toed shoes
• Work gloves
