2011 Bee College

Description

A two-day event with classes, lectures and workshops taught by internationally recognized experts. Also a Junior Bee College (kids 6-16), art show and honey judging. Beginner classes start with subjects like "The ABCs of Working a Colony" and "Assembling Your Equipment." More advanced classes deal with themes such as "Honey Extraction," "Grafting" and "Mead Making." Also a special Friday afternoon course for first responders on Africanized bees; for pest control operators, a Saturday morning class on control of Africanized bees.

(Multiple levels of instruction and certification offered in the Master Beekeeping Program. Ask about this program which is for beekeepers and not related to Bee College.)
