8:00AM - 5:00PM The Florida Division of Emergency Management will be holding its annual 2018 hurricane exercise at the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) in Tallahassee, Florida.  This is a 4-day exercise scheduled for April 30 through May 3.  SART Steering Committee members will participate in the exercise at the SEOC in Tallahassee.SART partner representatives are encouraged to participate virtually and join our SART Partners conference call during the exercise event.  More information will be sent to SART partners regarding this exercise event.

10:00AM - 11:00PM The 2018 Statewide Hurricane Exercise is scheduled April 30 through May 3 at the State Emergency Operations Center located in Tallahassee.  SART partners will hold a conference call on May 1, 2018, 10am-11am, during the exercise to discuss the exercise scenario and how our SART partners would coordinate resources and response for the ESF17 IMT during a hurricane event.  The conference call invitation with call-in number and password was emailed to SART partners on February 27.

8:00AM - 6:00PM Operations level will help qualify you for new roles during a disaster involving animals including possible Team Lead roles. This class expands on the learnings of the Level 1 course and challenges experienced shelter staff with scenarios of emergency sheltering during a disaster.THIS IS A TWO DAY CLASS!  To be eligible to take this course, you must be at least 18 years old, have a up-to-date FLSARC volunteer profile, AND provide proof of the following:FL SARC Awareness Level Small Animal Emergency Sheltering class.FEMA IS-100 (online and no charge)If the above certificates of completion are currently not part of your volunteer profile with FLSARC, please submit these certificates to volunteer@flsarc.org or your registration may be cancelled.

8:00AM - 6:00PM Florida State Animal Response Coalition, SNiP It of Central Florida and Osceola County Animal Services would like to offer you an opportunity to take our Awareness Level Small Animal Sheltering class! (Level 1)When disaster strikes, our team of trained volunteer responders will be there to shelter and protect Florida's companion animals.This Awareness Level (Level 1) class will give you the knowledge you need to work in an emergency animal shelter. This class will give you the expertise and practical experience required to become a professional disaster animal responder. The Awareness Level Small Animal Emergency Sheltering class is certified by the Florida Department of Emergency Management and is required to respond in Florida to help companion animals during a disaster.There is a $15 administration fee for each participant. After successful completion of this class you will recieve a free Florida SARC uniform t-shirt. Size and extra shirts can be selected on the registration page.
