8:00AM - 6:00PM Florida SARC's Awareness (Level 1) class teaches volunteers the unique procedures, skills, and knowledge necessary to build and operate a temporary emergency animal shelter in response to natural disasters and large cruelty cases. Our courses are FEMA and Florida Division of Emergency Management certified, and have been created with the experts at SART and UF Veterinary Emergency Treatment Service Team. Join us to learn how to deploy and save companion animals when disasters happen at a local, national or state level. The first 100 sign-ups will receive Free tuition, with thanks to Florida SART. 8:00 AM - SART-Sponsored Training RegistrationRegister here for open enrollment trainings sponsored by the Florida State Agricultural Response Team (SART). Registrants must be Florida residents serving communities in Florida to be eligible for participation. These trainings will take place at the Florida State Fire College (11655 NW Gainesville Rd, Ocala, FL 34482). Participants are responsible for their own travel costs and meals, but registration fees are covered by Florida SART for these classes.Low cost lodging is available on site and can be reserved through the Florida State Fire College website. Water onsite is not potable, please bring your own drinking water.In order to be eligible for an OPS training, participants must have completed AWR first.OPERATIONS (OPS) ANIMAL TECHNICAL RESCUEInvolves hands-on, scenario-based training for tools and techniques used to conduct animal technical rescue in low and high angle environments. Rope Rescue Ops is recommended as a prerequisite for this training. 24 hours CE from Florida State Fire College

Level 2 is aimed at FLSARC volunteers who are ready to use their skills to step up into a more advanced role on deployment. All attendees must have completed Awareness (Level 1) and IS-100 to attend, along with proven animal handling experience.
